Private Auditions

If you would still like to be considered for early 2024 placement, you have the opportunity to book a private audition!

We’re taking Private Auditions for beginner, intermediate and advanced level students aged 4-18. Just complete our Online Enquiry Form, and we’ll get in touch to arrange a suitable date and time.

  • Private Auditions 4-8 yrs
  • In a Private Audition, 4-9-year-old applicants are required to:

    Show a short improvised piece (e.g. a make-believe piece they have made up themselves – up to 1 minute long) or

    Recite a poem (or a nursery rhyme for pre-primary children) or

    Sing a verse and chorus of any song of their choice or

    Show a short dance that they may have learned at dance classes

    They can choose to do one or more of the above, and they can show all of the above if they wish – whichever they feel most comfortable performing.

  • Private Auditions 9-12 yrs
  • In a Private Audition, 10-13-year-old applicants are required to:

    Show a short improvised/devised piece (up to 1 minute long) or

    Perform a monologue or drama speech or

    Sing a verse and chorus of any song of their choice

    If they choose to show a song, this should be a verse and chorus of any piece of their choice.  Songs will be sung unaccompanied; therefore, sheet music is not required at this stage.

    Musical Theatre Programme:  Applicants wishing to be part of the Musical Theatre Programmes may be required to complete another singing audition (on another date) where they will sing one musical theatre song accompanied by our pianist.  This audition is usually in front of two panel members, including the head of the Musical Theatre department.

  • Private Auditions 13+ yrs
  • In a Private Audition, 14+-year-old applicants are required to:

    Show a short improvised/devised piece (up to 1 minute long) or

    Perform a monologue or drama speech or

    Sing a verse and chorus of any song of their choice

    If they choose to show a song, this should be a verse and chorus of any piece of their choice.  Songs will be sung unaccompanied; therefore, sheet music is not required at this stage.

    Musical Theatre Programme: Applicants wishing to be part of the Musical Theatre Programmes may be required to complete another singing audition (on another date) where they will sing one musical theatre song accompanied by our pianist.
