In a Private Audition, 4-9-year-old applicants are required to:rnrnShow a short improvised piece (e.g. a make-believe piece they have made up themselves – up to 1 minute long) u003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eoru003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003ernrnRecite a poem (or a nursery rhyme for pre-primary children) u003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eoru003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003ernrnSing a verse and chorus of any song of their choice u003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eoru003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003ernrnShow a short dance that they may have learned at dance classesrnrnThey can choose to do one or more of the above, and they can show all of the above if they wish – whichever they feel most comfortable performing.
In a Private Audition, 10-13-year-old applicants are required to:rnrnShow a short improvised/devised piece (up to 1 minute long) u003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eoru003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003ernrnPerform a monologue or drama speech u003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eoru003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003ernrnSing a verse and chorus of any song of their choicernrnIf they choose to show a song, this should be a verse and chorus of any piece of their choice. Songs will be sung u003cstrongu003eunaccompaniedu003c/strongu003e; therefore, sheet music is not required at this stage.rnrnu003cemu003eMusical Theatre Programme: Applicants wishing to be part of the Musical Theatre Programmes may be required to complete another singing audition (on another date) where they will sing u003cstrongu003eu003cuu003eone musical theatre songu003c/uu003eu003c/strongu003e accompanied by our pianist. This audition is usually in front of two panel members, including the head of the Musical Theatre department.u003c/emu003e
